So I’ve thought many a time about why God calls us His children – not His servants or followers. And yes, it’s obviously because He is our Father and He loves us beyond words. But I’m coming to understand that there may be something on our part to do – we have to adopt a child-like attitude when it comes to God. Stress on child-like not childish, yes they’re both very different things. So I’m gonna try to share this on the lines that I’ve come to understand. Maybe a step at a time because all at once may be a lot to take – read type 🙂
Faith of a child – So you see the times when parents play with their children sometimes throwing them in the air. The children’s faces are filled with joy and absolutely no fear because they trust without any doubt that they will be caught by their parent. As a child of God, we should aim to have that faith – no matter what happens in our life and how long the “up in the air” situation lasts we should always have faith that God will break our fall if only just before we hit the ground.
It’s gonna be tough as it always is – I mean, lets be honest, we know why children are not scared, mostly because they don’t know what could happen if they fell. But as we’re grown up, we tend to think of the “What if it doesn’t work out” of most situations – work, family, marriage – but the truth is we are not ordinary people – we are His children so all that’s required of us is to have faith.
On rainy days if we’re driving the car we don’t see the road ahead and it all seems foggy, but if it’s a road we know well we still go ahead right? We don’t stop simply because we can’t see. So as a child of God, the road of trials and difficulty is something we know well, so just go ahead with the faith that God will take care of you. We may stumble, we may fall too but our heavenly Father will always be there even if too pick us in His arms to set us free. After all, He is the great “I Am.”

An ordinary girl living an ordinary life, living out in the rhythms of grace in God's extraordinary love!
A few years ago I'd have thought that by this age I'd know it all.. but I don't. What I do know is that the grace of God has been a blanket over my life, and I hope that through this blog I can share bits of it with you too..God bless!
P.S: Abigail is my pen name, but it's actually much more to me now - God called me by this name in my heart in my past and He told me that I would be like the biblical Abigail. Then I used to wonder what I could possibly have in common with her. But now, I know.
Of late, God has taught me that I have passed through the past of Abigail, overcome the Nabal. Now I must find the Ruth in me, the one who got beyond every cross of her past, and lived faithfully to a life of God ordained destiny!
